Divisions of Hydrological Environment in the Northwest Pacific Ocean Sea Area and Risk Assessment on Maritime Navigation
26-years (1970-1995) shipping report data of the Pacific sea area are used in this paper. Based on 1°×1°grid data set obtained by objective analysis and optimization interpolation of hydro-meteorological factors, the paper firstly summarizes the characteristics of the climate in Northwest Pacific sea area. And then by means of fuzzy clustering method, the climate divisions of the sea area are classified. Finally the risk assessment of maritime navigation in this sea area is analyzed and evaluated with Fuzzy Logic Reasoning. The results indicate the basic seasonal changes and the geographic distribution characteristics of these hydro-meteorological factors in Northwest Pacific sea area, which could provide the background reference for the risk assessment and decision-making in maritime navigation in the sea area.
