R & D outsourcing strategies in supply chain management-a case study of ZheJiang automobile manufacturing
Outsourcing is proven as a good idea for many firms that need to reduce operating costs and improve information technology operations. Outsourcing the core activities could significantly improve the shape of the enterprise,and make it seem leaner and more like its newer,agile rivals (Charles,2000). For automobile manufacturing industry,Outsourcing of R & D is becoming a new trend and gains more and more concern. This article reports the results of an empirical study that probed the R & D outsourcing in the product development process. After reviewing the R & D outsourcing and outsourcing framework,an R & D outsourcing framework is presented in this paper. The process of R & D outsourcing and management of suppliers are also discussed based on the deep study of Geely automobile company.
