The Multi Local Worlds in Firm-University Collaborative Network
Multi-Local-World (MLW) model reveals that many real complex networks have local preferential attachment probabilities, which is different from BA and EBA model with a global preferential attachment. This paper aims at testing the existence of MLW in knowledge innovation system. Using firm and university coauthoring papers (1583),we build up a collaborative network with 568 firms and 366 universities, then explore its degree distribution and topological meanings by curve fitting methods and Cobbs-Doglas productive function measurement. Results show that there is strong empirical evidence of MLW in firm-university collaborative network, and the MLW structure has significant influence on regional industrial product value.
