The Strength Analysis for U Drum Bolt of Large Capacity Boiler

摘要：

The drum of a boiler is usually supported by two U bolts. For large capacity units. The load acting on each U bolt can reach as high as 400 tons. So it is very important to ensure the safety of the U bolt. The article starts from the beam’s tensile-bending differential equation, and get the bending moment formulae of bolt in some boundary conditions. It also comes up with the unified formulation in different loading conditions, which could be directly used in the U bolt design.
