Research on Material for Ultra-Super Critical Steam Turbine Unit
Improvement in steam parameters and increase in unit capacity of fossil power plant are important marks for fossil power technology progressing. The application of large ultra-super critical steam turbine, as one of the development trend for world’s power industry, will significantly reduce heat rate and improve economic effect. However, the improvement in parameters of unit imposes higher requirements on material. Therefore, turbine manufacturers of all countries in the world are competing in developing new material and tapping the potentials of existing material to adapt to higher parameters. Since 2003, China has fastened the construction of ultra-super critical unit, and requested all large turbine manufacturers would develop and manufacture ultra-super critical unit on the basis of projects, and by means of technology introduction or cooperation. With general considerations of the economic effect and safety of the unit, 25MPa-600℃/600℃ steam turbine has relative advantages in admission steam parameters. This paper will discuss the material selection features for ultra-super critical unit with such parameters.
