An Investigation on Fluidized Bed Combustion Process of Coarse Coal Particles

The micro-structure evolution process of coarse coal particle in a fluidized bed combustor had been investigated using Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) and nitrogen absorbent. The result shows that pores larger than 400 pixels had not been changed, but the pore size less than 400 pixels increased exponentially accompanied by inner surface of pore coarse coal particle increase. Due to excellent fluidized bed combustion condition and so long residue time of coarse particle, 100% combustion efficient has never been reached could be considered that the combustion process of coarse coal particle is controlled by chemical kinetic.
