A Transient Modeling about Temperature Changes in a Melting Chamber of a Pyrolysis Melting Incinerator

In a pyrolysis-melting waste incinerator, large amount of energy is required for maintaining high temperature molten slag. Combustion and heat transfer characteristics in a melting chamber are key phenomena for understanding behaviour of the molten slag. In this study, transient modeling is carried out for prediction of the molten slag temperature in the melting chamber. This model is basically a 1-D transient equation, considering various heat transfer characteristics and slag thickness changes in a melting chamber. Based on the heating, combustion and melting processes, temperature of the molten slag in the chamber is well simulated. The simulation results are validated by comparing with the experimental results in a pyrolysis melting incinerator of 30 kg/hr scale.
