An Intelligent Interactive Pen-based Whiteboard for Dynamic Geometry Teaching

Traditional electronic lecture systems can not support dynamic interaction with the static slides in class, and the interactive techniques based on WIMP can not adapt well to continuous drawing and writing especially in Geometry Teaching class. We introduce an intelligent interactive pen-based whiteboard system, IIPW, enabling geometry teachers to write ink annotations continuously, draw graphics freely and demonstrate dynamic geometric graphics with pen Ink, pen Sketch and pen Gesture. The framework of IIPW is described and an application example is given. User feedback shows that IIPW can benefit both teachers and students.
