Application and Synthetic Technology of Green Water Treatment Reagents from Natural Modified Starch

Starch resource of our country are abundant, in order to satisfy the various needs of wastewater treatment, developing a great deal of green, efficient , innocuous and cheap modified starch water treatment reagents has a profound realistic meaning. The best initiator was selected by comparing the experimental results of three initiation systems including ceric ammonium nitrate (CAN), potassium persulfate (KPS) and potassium permanganate (KMnO4).The effect on the graft copolymerization (starch-g-acrylamide) was investigated of types of initiators, concentrations of initiator and monomer, temperature, reaction time, mass ratio of cornstarch and acrylamide. The orthogonal tests demonstrated that the viscosity of grafting reached as high as 587.83ml/g under the following condition:initiator=1.1mmol/L, starch=35g/L, AM=1.48mol/L, temperature=25℃, time=2h. The reaction products were characterized by IR spectra and DSC. The problem in PanYi Coal Preparation Plant that there were the high content of fine coal in coal slime slurry and the difficulty in pressure filtration were solved by using 50g/t of graft polymer and 1500g /t of coagulating agent in dry coal slurry. The productive power was 75t/h, the moisture of filter cake was 25% and the filtrate concentration was 60g/L. The transmittance of flocculating results for coal slurry and kaolin showed: contrasting with PAM, the grafted polymers have the advantage of cheapness, innocuity and good flocculation; it provide an effective way for fine coal slurry processing from environmental protection and application.
