Residues and Distribution Character of HCHs and DDTs in Surface Sediments from the Intertidal Zone in Tanggu, Tianjin City
A total of 22 surface sediment samples were collected from Tanggu intertidal zone in October, 2006. HCHs and DDTs were analyzed by GC/ECD, the detection rates of for HCHs and DDTs were 100% and 81.8%, respectively. The concentration range of HCHs and DDTs in the sediments were 0.056–2.63ng/g and 0–8.04 ng/g-dry weight (dw), respectively, which shows the concentration of DDTs was higher than HCHs. The analysing results of the pollutant sources shows that discharging of pesticide application offered lots of HCHs and DDTs, furthermore, sediment types and the contents of the organic matter influenced the distribution of HCHs and DDTs in the sediments strongly. Contamination degree of HCHs and DDTs in the sediments of Tanggu intertidal zone is relatively lower than other areas. Comparing with ERL and ERM value of risk evaluation, DDTs in the sediments posed a bit high risk to consumers of the bottom-dwelling.
