Study on ESP with High Gas Velocity

In this paper, experiments of simulating flue gas purification are carried using the HVESP (The electrostatic precipitator with high gas velocity) system self-designed, and dust collecting mechanism is also discussed. The influence rules of the factors to dust collecting efficiency are examined, such as initial dust density, working voltage, effective dust collecting area and gas velocity. From the experiment results, the dust collecting efficiency can increase to above 95%, when the volumetric flow of flue gas is 3860m3/h, the gas velocity is 1.75m/s, initial dust density is 5g/m3, working voltage is 47kV, the distance from wire to plate is about 0.18m, the length of effective electric field is 2.8m, and the area of effective dust collecting plates is 14.5m2; The dust collecting efficiency can increase to 99.54%, when the volumetric flow of flue gas is 1787m3/h, the gas velocity is 0.81m/s,and the other conditions remain certain. The volume of the HVESP system decreases more than traditional ESP. The miniaturization is realized.
