Treatment of Acid Rose Red Dye Containing Wastewater by Fenton Reagent - Biological Aerated Filter Processes

According to the characteristics of wastewater containing acid rose red dye which was deep color and non-biodegradable, a combination processes of Fenton reagent-biological aerated filter (BAF) was used. The key of the combination processes were the Fenton reagent for oxidizing pretreatment, which reduced the color degree and part of organic matter, increased the biodegradability of the wastewater at the same time. Finally, most of the organic matter was removed by BAF. The results of the experiment showed that, when the color of influent was about 4000 times, and COD was about 300 mg·L-1, using the combination processes the effluent color could be reduced to less than 20 times and COD to less than 40 mg·L-1. It could meet the requirement standard of grey water reusing.
