Effect of Sludge Retention Time on the Sludge Activity of MBR
The removal rate of COD and NH4+-N was gained at different SRT by Eckenfelder equation in this paper to investigate the effect of SRT on the sludge activity of MBR. The results indicated that the removal rate of COD and NH4+-N at SRT=17d was the rapidest while SRT=7d, 17d, 27d, 37d and 42d at both log and declining growth regimes. Accordingly, It suggested SRT had significantly effect on the sludge activity of the MBR system, and the sludge activity, yield and permeate flux should be taken into account while determining the SRT of Membrane Bioreactor.
