Treatment and Reuse of Printing and Dyeing Effluent Based on Dynamic Ceramic Membrane
Dynamic membrane filtration of printing and dyeing wastewater is described. The dynamic membrane was composed of anα-Al2O3 porous ceramic membrane as the primary membrane and kaolin as the inert material to form a cake layer. Using dynamic membrane to treat the wastewater which was the secondary effluent from a printing and dyeing mill is investigated in this paper, as well as determining the favorable operating conditions, especially for transmembrane pressure and cross-flow velocity. The results have shown that 0.10MPa,1.5 m/s were the optimum operating conditions for this wastewater treatment. Under these conditions, permeate flux reached 227 l/m2.h, after 120 min, and COD, turbidity and color removals are 52 %, 96 % and 99 % respectively. Finally, dyeing tests indicated that the permeate could be reused into print process, finding that the knitting were all up to samples.
