Effects of Mass-Transfer Efficiency and pH to Hydrolysis-Acidogenosis Anaerobic Baffled Reactor

A hydrolysis-acidogenosis anaerobic baffled reactor (HAABR) was designed in this work to evaluate the feasibility of high soluble chemical oxygen demand (SCOD) removal efficiency of acidification stage and the results indicated that the SCOD removal efficiency of HAABR could achieve 43%±4% at a hydraulic retention time (HRT) of 4h under the conditions that mass-transfer efficiency was enhanced markedly and system pH was 4.8-6.27. Based on the high organic removal efficiency, the aim of this research was to investigate the effects mass-transfer efficiency and pH to the efficiency of HAABR. The results indicated that the effects of mass-transfer efficiency and pH to HAARB are markedly. The SCOD removal efficiency of hydrolysis-acidogenosis process would be high efficient only if enhance mass-transfer efficiency and control pH value at 4.8-6.27.
