Research on Content of Heavy Metals in Filling Reclamation Soil Crop in Xuzhou, China

This paper aimed at understanding the pollution of heavy metals, food security and the heavy metals content of crops in reclaimed soil filled with coal gangue and fly ash. Based on experiments and samples tests in different positions, the content of heavy metals in elementary crops in comparative soil, fly ash and coal gangue filling reclamation soil was analyzed respectively, such as As, Cd, Cr, Hg, Pb, Cu and Zn. The result shows that the content of heavy metals contained in filling reclamation soil crops including red bean, rice and wheat is similar with comparative soil crops. The heavy metals of soil are assimilated and transferred in the crop. There are different sensitivities to different heavy metal elements among different parts of crops during procreating stage. The content of heavy metals in seed is smaller compared with the seedling and staff. It is suitable for planting red bean in filling reclamation land, but unsuitable for rice and wheat. So the cropping system and soil management should be changed and the red bean might be used as pioneer crop in filling reclamation land.
