Self-Assembly CdS Nanowires Based On DNA Templates
DNA molecules are recently widely used as a smart templates material in designing rod-and tube-like nanostructures because of there famous double helix strands. In this paper, we present the fabrication of CdS nanowires by self-assembling CdS nanoparticles on double-stranded DNA templates. The nanowires are formed by a few nanowires screwing together, featuring a helix structure. The seldom structure in inorganic materials attributes to the strong electrostatic interaction between the free carboxyl on CdS nanoparticles with negative chargesand the amidocyanogen on DNA molecules with positive charges. The results show that it is a highly efficiency approach and technology to construct nanowires using DNA templates.
