Global Treaties and Trade Impacts on Pesticide Safety Regulations Policies in Developing Nations: Kenya and China
Ever since the formation of the UN (United Nations) in June 26th, 1945, various treaties under its agencies have been signed to address the ever growing concern of Chemicals including pesticides effects on the Environment and Human Health. These Treaties provide the policy instruments to guide pesticide management across the globe. They include the Codex Alimentarius, the Montreal Protocol, the Basel Convention, the Rotterdam Convention, the Stockholm Convention, the earth summit especially Agenda 21. Other treaties that have an aspect of pesticide use are like the Convention concerning Safety in the Use of Chemicals at Work and the World Health Declaration and Health-for-all in the 21st Century.
