Distribution of aluminum and fluoride in subtropical hilly red soils of tea plantation and Its Influential factors

The distribution of Al and F extracted by four extracting solutions in red soils of tea plantation from subtropical hilly country was studied. It was indicated that the order for aluminum-extracting capacity of the four extractants was as following: 1mol/L HCl>1mol/L NH<,4>A<,c>(pH4.8)>1mol/L KCl (pH5.5)>H<,2>O (pH6.8). The fluoride content extracted by 1mol/L HCl was the highest, ranging from 6.62~38.8mg/kg; the fluoride content extracted by 1mol/L KCl and 1mol/L NH<,4>A<,c> was the next; and the water-soluble fluoride content was the lowest. The contents of aluminum and fluoride extracted by four extractants decreased with depth along soil profiles and accumulate 0-3cm surface soils. The linear regression between fluoride and aluminum extracted by deionised water was established: H<,2>O- F=6.43 H<,2>O-Al+10.63, r=0.3506 (n=45, P<0.01). Aluminum was significantly correlated with fluoride extracted by the other extractants. Marked increase of the content of aluminum and fluoride was noticed with increase ages of tea plantation. The content of aluminum and fluoride extracted by four extractants was also influenced by parent material and organic matter.
