QTL analysis of iron and zinc content in wheat grain

Micronutrient malnutrition has been a big problem all over the world nowadays. More attention has been focused on the micronutrient of the edible part in crops. The aim of this study is to find out the QTLs (quantitative trait locus) about iron and zinc content in grains. Doubled haploid (DH) population developed from a cross between Hanxuan10 and Lumai 14 was used. The Fe, Zn and P concentration in wheat grain was measured. The results showed positive correlations between each trait and polygenes for Fe and Zn in wheat grain. Our results suggested a potential candidate linkage group on Chromosome 4D which was important for grain nutrition traits.
