The Distribution and Partition of Heavy Metals in Water Column of the Daliao River System

摘要：

Concentrations of heavy metals in the dissolved phase and suspended particulate matter (SPM) were measured to investigate the metal distribution and partition in water column of the Daliao River system. Results show that the concentrations in the branches and estuary are higher. Partition coefficients of metals between SPM and dissolved phase followed the sequence of Pb>Cd>Cu. Carbonate and TOC may be the major factors influencing the partition of Cd, while the partition of Pb may be mainly controlled by the manganese hydroxide in SPM.
