Accumulation and root-shoot transfer of <137>Cs in plants
We investigated the accumulation of technogenic <137>Cs in the roots and shoots of higher plants grown under natural conditions. The root-to-shoot transfer of this radionuclide depended both on the plant species and the habitats of the collected plants. The transfer and distribution of <137>Cs differed from that of 40K in the studied plants. In addition we studied the accumulation of <137>Cs by Lepidium sativum L. under laboratory conditions over a growth period of 7 days. The main results of these lab experiments should be given here.
