Conditions for dispersion of pollutants and changes of roadside topsoil contamination by heavy metals

Topsoil samples were taken in 2005 from the sanitary protection zone at the same four cross-sections of Vilnius-Kaunas highway as in 1991. They differ in conditions for dispersion of pollutants. The samples were analysed by optical atomic emission spectrophotometry for the total contents of 22 elements. The highest increase of topsoil additive contamination by Pb, Zn, Cu, Sn, Mo and Sr was in the cross-section of the road going through the cutting.
