The influence of thunderstorm’s lightnings the global electrical circuit
The influence of thunderstorm’s lightnings of the different types on the global electrical circuit is considered by the nonstationary theory of the global circuit. The governing equation for nonstationary global circuit in the spherical coordinates (r, θ , φ ) in the center of the Earth is:where φ -is the electrical potential,(E )- is the strength of electrical field, λ (r) – is electrical conductivity of atmosphere, (Js)- is density of electrical current of the thunderstorm generator including density of charge generation current in cloud and, and density of the lightning current.Variations of the electrical potential of the ionosphere and the strength of electrical field near the ground due to the thunderstorm’s lightnings are calculated. Variations of the ionospheric potential due to intracloud lightnings and the positive-cloud-to-ground lightning are negative. Negative cloud-to-ground lightnings produce the positive variations of the ionospheric potential. Estimations show that the input of negative cloud-to-ground lightnings in the variations of strength of the electrical field is small (≤10-20%).This estimations show that the global electric circuit are maintained by quasi-stationary stage of the evolution of the thunderstorms which characterized making of thunderstorm electrical charges.
