Tropo-Strato-Mesospheric Electrical Conductivity from an Aerosol-Ion-Chemical Model

The height variation of the electrical conductivity of a mid-latitude atmosphere from ground level up to 96 km is studied using ion-aerosol model approach. Detailed ion-aerosol interactions including multiple charging of aerosols are considered in the computations of mesospheric conductivities, whereas, singly charged aerosols are involved in the conductivities of tropo and stratospheric heights. The model computed conductivity profiles agree with the reported experimental conductivity profiles.
