Temporal and Spatial Structure of Storm Charge and Kinematics in the 26 May 2004 Supercell Storm During TELEX
The manner in which charge regions develop in the area near the updraft in a supercell storm and the arrangement of the charged regions relative to storm structure inferred from radar are discussed. It is found that charge structures within bands of reflectivity associated with three new updraft surges contained pockets of charge. The sequence of activation of lightning within each surge was not the same for each episode.
