Connection of Thunderstorm Processes Intensity with Aerosol Pollution of the Atmosphere

The evaluations of the influence of the parameters of aerosol pollution of the atmosphere (aerosoloptical depth of the atmosphere, beta-radioactive fallings, air electrical conductivity) on such characteristics of thunderstorm processes as a quantity of lightning discharges, the intensity of lightning discharges, the logarithm of the maximum radar reflectance of clouds, the radiolocation parameter of thunderstorm danger, the mean duration of thunderstorms day are carried out. Data about the above-indicated parameters are acquired during the field experiments in Alazani Valley, Dusheti and Tbilisi. It is shown that the connections of the intensity of thunderstorm processes with the aerosol pollution of the atmosphere have fairly complicated, often nonlinear, nature. The pollution of the atmosphere depending on its nature and level can lead both to the increase and to the decrease of the intensity of thunderstorm processes. Examples of the paired and multiple linear and nonlinear empirical regression models of these connections are given.
