Simulated Electrification of a TELEX Multicell Storm

Electrification and lightning are simulated for a small continental multicell storm that was observed on 28-29 June 2004 in Oklahoma. Initial simulated lightning occurs in an inverted dipole charge structure (negative charge above positive). The storm subsequently develops an upper positive charge region and associated lightning, as in the observed case.
