Numerical Simulation of the Relationship between Electrification and Microphysics in Hailstorms
Charges accumulation and electric field proceeding inside two convective clouds which had different degree of convection and wind shear in northern parts of China were simulated by introducing improved noninductive charging mechanism into the second version of the three-dimensional hailstorm numerical model. The results show that updraft velocity, and ice particles and water mixing ratio have an influence on the electrical development of clouds.
