Characteristics of the Artificially Triggered Lightning in Intense Thunderstorms during SHATLE

摘要：

Shandong artificially triggering lightning experiment (SHATLE) was conducted during the summer of 2005 and 2006 in China. There have been 7 successfully triggered lightning and 12 current records of the return-strokes. In this paper, the characteristics of the optical and electric field of triggered lightning were reviewed. All the triggered lightning flashes showed the similarities with natural CG, so the results of the SHATLE are useful for lighting protection.
