Misconceptions and Reasonable Assumptions for Modeling Leader and Return Stroke Processes
This paper offers a critical discussion of several important aspects of modeling lightning processes. Its aim is to encourage a much needed debate on reasonable model assumptions that are supported by experimental data as well as the laws of physics. Previous assumptions on leader and return stroke processes, that have been proven wrong, belong to history and should not clutter our present literature.
