The Intracloud/Cloud-to-ground Lightning Ratio in Southeastern Brazil

The intracloud to cloud-to-ground lightning flash (IC:CG) ratio, Z, has been calculated in southeastern Brazil using on-board LIS satellite sensor data and the Brazilian lightning detection network (RINDAT) data. The calculation was performed into a 0,5 x 0,5 degree grid for data obtained from 1998 to 2005. Regional differences of Z will be discussed and its annual and seasonal variations will be presented.
