Observation of daytime perturbations of VLF transmittersignals
During the Penn State University experimental campaign (August-September 2001) in Puerto Rico, a daytime Early/fast event was observed on the great circle path (GCP) on the NAA transmitter (Cutler, ME) signal observed at Vieques (VQ), Puerto Rico. In this paper we show that the relaxation of transient ionization (based on a five-constituent ionospheric model) attributed to gigantic blue jets Lehtinen and Inan 2007, results in reasonable agreement with the observed recovery time of the presented event.
