Effect of Different Factor on the Lightning Radiation Magnetic Field

Besides the calculation of lighting radiation magnetic field above perfect conductor ground, both the evaluation of lightning radiation field above lossy ground and that considering the effect of ionosphere are discussed in this paper and useful expressions are derived. With the soil resistivity, ionosphere, lightning channel height and observation point height taken into account respectively, the lightning radiation field is analyzed employing the obtained formula. Due to the reflection of ionosphere, multiple peaks occur in the waveform of the lightning radiation magnetic field. And for lightning channel of finite height, crossing zero point is obvious, but the tendency is more weaken for higher channel. The analysis also indicates that the effect of observation point height less than 200m on lightning radiation magnetic field and that of soil resistivity less than 10k Ω·m can be neglected.
