Non-serious Lightning Effects on Human Beings

When many people exist around the struck point of a lightning flash, one or several of them are not seriously injured or slightly affected. The authors investigated all states of the lightning effects on human beings. When a human being stays near the lightning-struck trees or lightning-struck high objects with the distance of more than two meters, he may occasionally receive side-flash from a branch of the lightning channel. The injuries he receives are neither fatal nor serious. When he stays near the struck point, he may receive the shock pressure wave from the lightning channel and the effects are not serious. When a human being contacts ground with plural portions of his body, he may get electric shock which are not serious. When a human being stands near the lightning-struck point, the induction current may flow through his body but the effects are not serious. When a human being stays close to electric power lines, telephone lines, apparatuses connected to them and city water systems, he may occasionally receive electric shock. The effects are usually slight.
