Experimental Study on Lightning Characteristic of Electronic Equipment’s Power Supply
Lightning protection for power supply of electronic equipment is an important problem of low-voltage lightning protection system. In this paper,lightning characteristic test of electronic equipment’s power supply are studied. Firstly impulse generator is made; And then lightning characteristic test for different power supplies such as switch model power supply are done. Test results show: different power supply has different lightning impulse characteristic because of their different heat, electro motion when there is lightning stroke;Whether impulse current or voltage withstand capability in common model is stronger than that in different model. The test also show that when there is lightning stroke, flashover often occurs in the ACDC conversion part inside of switch power supply. The manufacturing technology of the power supply has definite affect on withstand capability. The switch model power supply has some weak parts when there is lightning stroke, such as transformers in the AC-DC conversion part, the resistor and capacitor of the bridge rectifier. And switch model power supplies have stronger lightning withstand capability than common small power supply we chose as equipments under test in this paper . So to measure lightning withstand capability is necessary when designing lightning protection system for power supply in low voltage electronic equipments. The data in this paper could provide reference for real situation.
