THE STUDY OF THE MODIFICATION OF ITERATION CONVERGENCE CRITERION FOR MOLD FILLING
In the paper, the SIMPLE method is adopted to compute mold filling, and van_leer scheme is used to capture free surface of the liquid. By investigation of several convergence methods for the couple calculation of N-S equation and continuity equation, we change the two original convergence criterions-the algebraic sum of the mass residual of the continuity equation must be little than a constant and the absolute value of the maximum value of the mass residual of continuity equation for each inner cell must be little than a constant-into another more simple criterion: only the absolute value of the maximum value of the mass residual of continuity equation for each inner cell should be little than a constant. The comparison of the calculating result under such criterion with the experiment result of an anti-gravity filling of a large plate, and also with the computing result of several result by two software prove to be good. And in the meantime, the computing velocity is greatly promoted by such criterion.
