APPLICATION OF ADVANCED SMOOTH TECHNOLOGY TO POSTPROCESSING OF FINITE DIFFERENCE DATA
To smoothly visualize the finite difference simulation data, an accurate, efficient and consistent algorithm for mapping these data to geometric surface is proposed. Implementation details and strict algorithm analysis are given. Utilizing the mapping algorithm, an ExPDB algorithm and a unique smooth clipping plane algorithm are presented. Theoretical analysis of both the two algorithms is also provided. Two complex castings are used to test these algorithms. Experiments show that smooth approximation geometries could be constructed within several seconds. Temperature contours with mapping processing agrees well with the originals, which proves the validities of the algorithms.
