DEVELOPMENT OF INTEGRATED SIMULATION PORTAL FOR CASTING PROCESSES ON THE NET

The computer has been used as tools for everyday work at desk side for over last 10 years, and it became essentials for manufacturing field to improve productivities or to develop high-value added designs. Especially, digital design tools, such as CAD and simulation tools, are being applied for various manufacturing fields including casting processes. So many excellent simulation tools for casting processes were developed as world-wide scale and they all work well enough to predict the casting defects considering solidification, flow dynamics and structural deformation also. But all these tools are operated at powerful desk-side computers by well- trained experts mainly, so that simulation got into difficulties to diffuse the scientific designing concept to newcomers in casting field. To overcome encountering problems in scientific casting designs, we utilized the main advantages of information technologies and full-matured hardware backbones to spread out the effective and scientific casting design mind to mddle and small size casting industries, and it is Integrated Simulation Portal on the Web. It professes scientific casting design on the NET including ubiquitous access ways represented by Anyone, Anytime, Anywhere concept for casting designs.
