THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE CASTING EXPERT SYSTEM BASED ON THE DATABASE BY UTILIZING SIMULATION AND MODELER
In these days, many researchers are taking a great interest in the engineering science fields studying of the optimization of product design for high quality, productivity and cost savings using computer simulations. The sound casting design via the simulation requires much time for analysis because of repetitive calculation. In addition, a technician should analyze each simulation result, which is very inconvenient. Also they have some trouble things about making a initial design of castings. In order to solve such a problem, we are building Intelligent Expert System. This IES consists of knowledge-based module, simulation, optimization module and interactive modeler (which is based on the commercial modeler). By using and interacting between these modules of IES, we can easily make an optimum design of castings. This study introduce the general process of the system and some examples to apply it to real product.
