RESEARCH OF COMPUTING METHOD OF THE MAGNETIC FIELD DISTRIBUTION IN THE SOFT-CONTACT MOLD
Distribution of magnetic field in a soft-contact mold was calculated using a coupled circuit model. The effects of the slit numbers and other parameters, such as the power and frequency of the power supply, the relative position between the coil and mold, on the distribution of magnetic field were discussed. The results show that the magnetic penetration and magnetic flux density are enhanced by increasing the slit numbers; the magnetic flux density increases with lowering frequency and raising power. Along the central axis, the maximum value of the magnetic flux density increases and its position rise up with the coil moving up. The magnetic flux density decreases when the distance between coil and mold becomes longer. The simulation results are consistent with the experiment results, so the model can be used to simulate the magnetic field distribution in the soft- contact mold.
