COMPUTER SIMULATION OF ELECTROMAGNETIC FIELD AND SHAPE OF LIQUID COLUMN IN ROUND INGOT ELECTROMAGNETIC CASTING
Distributions of electromagnetic field without load, with load of having screen or having not screen were simulated by using of mutual inductance coupling model in the electromagnetic casting. Mutual inductance coefficients of the round Al ingot were calculated. Distributions of electromagnetic field with load and without load were measured by experiment. Comparing calculated results with measured ones made out that they are relatively well coincident with each other. When the inductor slopes down to the ingot, the magnetic induction was weakened obviously in the upper part of inductor and the shape of liquid column was improved.
