Synchrotron Radiation CT System for Explosive Initiator Nondestructive Examination

A synchrotron radiation CT system for explosive initiator nondestructive examination was introduced. By using this system, the quasi-static tension/compression loading test of the explosive initiator can be realized, and the macro P-Δ curve of the specimen as well as the micro CT photograph at any loading condition can be obtained. First, the survey of this system was introduced, and then based on the pixel size (10.9 x 10.9μm) of the x-ray CCD used in the system, the kinematic positioning accuracy requirement of specimen was given by analyzing the relationship of spatial resolution of the CT system and the kinematic positioning accuracy of specimen, and the design scheme of the loading/rotating device which load and drive specimen was introduced. Evaluation test on the system indicated that the precision of this system was 6μm without considering the noise, and the compression testing and CT analysis on foam aluminum by adopting this system indicated primarily that this system was reliable.
