Generalized Dependence of Detonation Velocity on the Porosity (Density)

The analysis of the experimental dependences of the maximum and critical velocity of detonation on the density is carried out It is shown that in the dimensionless coordinates (the relative detonation velocity/porosity) the experimental data for different explosives are grouped along the single curve over a wide range of the change of porosity. The new semi-empirical method of the calculation of the detonation velocity at different porosity (density) is proposed. At the use of single experimental value the method gives a good agreement of results of calculation and experiment. It is possible with its help to predict not only the dependence maximum velocity, but also the dependence of critical velocity of detonation on porosity.
