Dependence of Detonation Transformation Time on the Charge Density of Heterogeneous Explosives from Point of View of Hot Spots Mechanism
The dependence of the detonation transformation time in condensed heterogeneous explosives on its charge density is investigated from point of view of the model based on the hot spot mechanism. It is obtained that in general case this dependence is non-monotonic and has a minimum. Besides there is a characteristic value of the explosive charge density, that at a charge density under the characteristic one the explosive is transformed into detonation products by the hot spots mechanism, if above it by the classical homogeneous mechanism. The theoretical results obtained correspond to available experimental data.
