Test System for Detonation Electromagnetic Radiation
A test system for detonation electromagnetic radiation is put forward in this paper, which characterizes a non-electric initiation design. Concretely, a primer-plastic detonating cord- detonator-charge initiation system was adopted to eliminate the electromagnetic disturbance produced by traditional electric detonators. Two brass antennae with length of 960mm and 250mm and diameter 10mm and 2mm, respectively, were adopted to receive signals. Tektronix TDS 5054 digital phosphor oscilloscope was adapted to record signals. The signals recorded by oscilloscope were calibrated by a standard electromagnetic radiation source in a GHz transverse electromagnetic (GTEM) system. And a preliminary corresponding between electromagnetic field and system signal was educed. A series of detonation electromagnetic radiation tests were carried out in an explosion chamber (Nobel Chematur AB, made in Sweden), and valid signals were captured. Test results indicate that the system can be applied in detonation electromagnetic raiation tests and work credibly.
