Experimental Study of Foam Ceramics Effect on Shock Wave Propagation of Gas Explosion
Gas explosion is the most severe disaster which can cause major accidents in coal mine production, and it is urgent and important to research new materials and technology that can suppress and isolate the explosions. Gas explosion pipe of square shape was used, Al2O3 and SiC foam ceramics were chosen and the effect rules of the foam ceramics on shock wave propagation of gas explosion were researched by experiments. The results show that the foam ceramics has obvious effect of wave attenuation, can effectively reduce the precursor wave velocity, weaken the intensity of the maximum overpressure, and it also has outstanding noise elimination performance. The experiment study puts forward a new idea to develop technology of suppression and isolation aiming at continuous and continual explosion.
