A New Igniter for Thermite Design
Considering the characteristics of thermite and the using situation, the design scheme of special-purpose flame igniter was adopted, and the igniter has been designed in detail. In this igniter, Si, Ba(N03)2 and S were selected as the major ingredients of the high- energy ignition powder. In order to check the comprehensive performance of igniter, the tests are carried out mainly to check the safety, reliability and long storage ability of this device. The results of tests prove that the product can ignite the thermite reliably and this device fits for the need of using in normal wild condition.
