Combustion Property of High Energy Deterred Gun Propellant
High energy ZY gun propellant is a kind of solvent extruded propellant contenting RDX. Handling with inorganic deterrent, we can get ZY deterred gun propellant. And several kinds of deterred propellant can be gained by altering consistency of deterrent, such as 8D and 10D deterred propellants. This paper explores the combustion properties of 8D and 10D deterred propellants at various temperatures through closed bomb tests under high pressure, and then compares the results with undeterred ZY propellant. The result shows that the burning rate of ZY deterred propellant under low pressure is about 70%-80% of the high pressure at the same temperature, and ZY deterred propellant has a low-temperature sensitivity. While with the content of deterrent increasing, the low-temperature sensitivity of deterred propellant, which represented in reducing burning rate, significant descending powder impetus and a longer combustion time, has been found more obviously.
