Analyses of Influencing Factors on Heat Wave Propagation in Heavy Oil Fires
Hot wave is the most important condition of forming the boilover and sputtering. The characteristic of heat wave propagation in the liquid layer of heavy oil fires was analyzed. The mathematic model of hot wave spreading rate was established and the influencing factors were discussed. According to the mathematical model of the hot waves propagation, the hot wave spreading rate is related with the light components mass gasification rate at the cold and hot interface, the hot zone temperature, the environmental temperature, the burning oils density and the oil burning linear rate. Under a fire situation, the oil of the mass gasification rate Φ> of more than 0.7 is difficult to form an obvious hot zone and the possibility for boilover to happen is very little. When the oils mass gasification rate Φ> 2X0.25, the light components density ratio has an obvious effect on hot wave spreading rate. When the oils mass gasification rate Φ > 0.5, the light components density ratio hardly has no effect on the hot wavespreading rate.
